The Curse of Too Much

Updated: Oct 30, 2019

Here is an interesting thought... there is such a thing as too much.

Too much food, too much alcohol, too much work. Also too much money

I grew up in a house where my dad was so paranoid about the curse of too much taking root in our lives that he purposely made sure that we grew up “thinking that we were poor” I remember when he told us this and resenting him bitterly for the lack that seemed so present growing up. Now although this was his philosophy, events in his life also meant that my parents live very stretched for most of their lives, taking on the financial burden for a great number of people. I live forever in gratitude to their example of selfless generosity. Love you dad!

What is the curse of too much?

“When the abundance of resources stunts emotional, intellectual and practical growth in an individual and or company”

Do you know that most start ups don’t fail due to lack of business but actually an inability to meet demand?

The modern microwave capitalist environment we live in looks for instant results. When it doesn’t work immediately people tend to get discouraged and walk away or it goes so well that they collapse under the weight of what they have grown into

In an ideal world as our intelligence (emotional, spiritual, intellectual and specialist knowledge) increases, our access to resources should also increase. A big part of the reason so many lottery winners are ruined by the wealth they win is because they never had the opportunity to develop inside intelligence that would allow them to manage the massive increase in resources they suddenly have.

If you run a business, it is key that you know how to do every part of that business from cleaner to CEO.

Particularly if you are a young person, trying to get a business idea of the ground – DO NOT GET A LOAN IMMEDIATELY.

It is so important for you to do what you can with the limited resources you have as it makes you more intelligent. Intelligent how?

It makes you more resourceful, humble, gives you better communication and interpersonal skills and forces you to go out of your comfort zone. Forgoing this process is the Achilles heel of most people. Not having all the funds to start a project should be seen as an opportunity not as a dream killer.

Don’t hide behind the excuse of no money! Go get started now!

Lots of love

Claudia
